What is ArtShed?

ArtShed supports young people to build confidence, develop independence and move towards employment. Through a creative and practical approach, participants grow their life skills, self-worth and aspirations for the future.

What does the programme include?

Participants attend three days a week and work alongside a team of arts professionals and Special Educational Needs specialists. The programme includes:

  • Arts-based learning across a range of creative disciplines
  • A blend of theory, practical workshops and training
  • Real-world work experience opportunities
  • Collaborative and independent creative projects

Making a difference

A key part of ArtShed is giving young people a platform to create their own arts projects. These projects help to challenge stigma and break down the barriers people with additional needs can face in the workplace, raising awareness in the wider community.

Why ArtShed?

With a strong focus on ability, not disability, ArtShed provides a safe and inspiring space where young adults can:

  • Build friendships and feel part of a team
  • Explore new opportunities
  • Develop confidence and communication skills
  • Aspire to achieve their goals

Our impact so far
